Systems Administrator

Overview
The Systems Administrator functions as the primary resource for ensuring the successful operations and maintenance of our computer systems, both on premises and in the cloud.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for the configuration, deployment, administration, and support of end user hardware/software, telecommunications system, virtual and physical servers, and network infrastructure.
  • Implements security measures and maintains existing systems to protect from unauthorized access, viruses, ransomware, and other threats.
  • Monitors system health and enhances hardware for performance and reliability.
  • Performs system back-up/restore to ensure proper disaster recovery plans.
  • Tests and installs application upgrades and server patches.
  • Creates and maintains documentation on the procedures and protocols related to all areas of responsibility.

  • Network, cloud, and server configuration, maintenance, and security (30%).
  • Research and special projects (30%).
  • Desktop/Hardware/Telephone system support (25%).
  • Training and self-study (15%).

Education and Experience:

  • A.S. or B.S. degree in Information Technology or equivalent work experience/certifications.
  • 2+ years of progressive experience in managing a Microsoft environment with solid understanding of Active Directory, Microsoft 365 admin portal, Entra, Exchange Online, Windows Server, Windows 10/11 operating systems.
  • Experience with VMware suite and related backup and recovery strategies.
  • Networking experience including firewalls, subnets, vlans, switches, wireless access points, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Experience with Meraki firewall configuration, DUO, and VPN Administration.
  • Working knowledge of Android/iOS and mobile device management.
  • Working knowledge of AWS/Azure.
